The North Sound is one of the world’s great classrooms—steady winds, protected seas, and a world-class crew. Whether you’re taking up something brand new, perfecting your jibe, or refining your racing skills, our instructors meet you exactly where you are. From private lessons to small-group sessions, instruction is tailored to all skill levels and designed to build confidence, ease, and joy on the water.

Sailing
Bitter End Yacht Club began as a haven for seafarers and continues to be one today. We teach sailors of all abilities how to fine-tune their craft and maximize their enjoyment on the protected North and Eustatia Sounds. Private and group lessons are available.
Diving
Swim-through arches, coral canyons, and historic wrecks proliferate in the BVI, making the waters around Bitter End some of the most beautiful, pristine, and protected in the world. We partner with the expert divers of Sunchaser Scuba to offer one-of-a-kind outings and hassle-free guidance.
Wind & Wing Surfing
The North Sound’s favorable trade winds and range of surface conditions – from flat to moderate chop – offer a welcome challenge for wind and wing surfers of every skill level. Need help getting started? Just ask the Bitter End Crew.
Stand-Up Paddle & Kayaking
World-class instruction, reliable North Sound trade winds, and great launching beaches make Bitter End one of the best places in the world to learn (and master) ocean kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
Fishing
You’ll find world-class fishing and flats just off our shores, as well as bonefish, tarpon, kingfish, dolphin, wahoo, and tuna in the surrounding waters. Connect with the Bitter End Crew to arrange fishing trips and to expedite a temporary fishing license (required unless fishing with a local guide or charter fishing boat).
