Our new state of the art Marina features:

  • Accommodation for up to 18 yachts including eight large yachts (up to 150’), and ten smaller yachts (sail and/or power).
  • Most slips in ten feet or more of water, and eight slips can accommodate boats with drafts of 15 feet or more.
  • Tender docks have also been expanded, to better serve large power yacht.
  • Catamaran slips designed to accommodate wide beams.
  • A composite-hybrid facility with additional power availability to give yachts access to a larger number of 30 and 50 amp powerposts.
  • An expanded L-Dock including room for two smaller yachts and accommodation for up to four megayacht berths (up to 235’).
  • Ability to accommodate 35 yachts on the five dock locations spread over one quarter mile of Bitter End’s marina waterfront.

Shortly after Easter, work began in earnest on the new and improved state of the art Quarterdeck Marina at Bitter End Yacht Club. The new facility, at the begining of July, replaces what was already one of the most popular boutique-style destination marinas in the Caribbean.

With over 18 slips on the primary docks (depending on the types and sizes of boats accommodated), the Quarterdeck Marina is looking forward to welcoming back our annual repeat-visit charter vacation sailors, cruising voyagers, deep sea anglers, and fine yacht aficionados.

In addition to our in-the-know repeat visitors by boat, the charms and beauty of North Sound have drawn larger charter catamarans, top-of-the-line sportfish 'battlewagons,' and private megayachts, frequenting Bitter End’s anchorage and docks. North sound is, according to Chief Operations Officer Sandra Grisham, “perhaps one of the most popular watersports playgrounds in the Caribbean.”

The management team at Bitter End has listened closely to the needs and desires of our yachting guests, and that information, combined with 35+ years' experience developing an overall BVI waterfront experience, has informed the process of creating a facility custom-tailored just for our guests.

Quarterdeck Marina“The previous facility was certainly more than sufficient, and fit our needs in the 80s, 90s and until recently. But the new installation, built from the ground up, will have wider slips, improved decking surfaces, enhanced skirting, upgraded power, and best of all a better dockage layout to accommodate a wider variety of boat sizes and shapes. We think it will be a wonderful complement to our world-class shoreside offerings,” states Dana Hokin, Bitter End Yacht Club's Owner and Managing Director.

Richard Starkey, of well-known Tortola-based Meridian Construction Company, is the General Contractor on the project. Noted architect Peter Brill penned the designs. Both worked closely with ownership and management to fulfill their goals. According to Starkey, “the project here at Bitter End will fit the needs of the clientele perfectly. It’s such a lovely location, and the new facility will blend in nicely.”

And, while the Quarterdeck docks are being completed, the L-Dock, Service Dock (for fuel & water), and Gazebo Dock all remain in service.

Enjoy all of this and more at the Bitter End Yacht Club on the famed North Sound; perhaps the best deepwater anchorage in all the Caribbean. Welcome aboard!
