Dean Barker

We always like to have a first time skipper, a Pro Am “Newbie” if you will, and this year, Dean carries the torch. Success came early for Dean, as he won the World Youth Champs in 1990, rose to #4 in the World Match Cup rankings, and was later brought aboard Team New Zealand’s winning America’s Cup campaign in 2000. He helmed the unsuccessful 2003 defense, but went on to be a popular and top flight skipper on the match race, Farr 40, RC 44, and TP 52 circuits.
