Phase II of Beachfront Renovation Complete

“Our beachfront accommodations are legendary – every room has a wraparound porch and hammock, along with a fantasy view of the Caribbean Sea. The open-air ‘tree house’ style captures the trade winds and has been our architectural signature for decades. It was time to rejuvenate the interiors in a manner that is consistent with the understated sophisticated style that is Bitter End,” says Dana Hokin, Managing Partner. “My favorite addition? The six-foot mirror
over the vanity that reflects the view.”

As part of our ongoing multi-million dollar renovation, Bitter End will complete a total renovation of the Beachfront Villas by early winter 2008. The refreshed décor comes compliments of renowned Miami-based interior designer Barbara Hulanicki, who gracefully integrated Italian-tiled bathrooms, teak vanities, and custom-designed furniture into each of our signature open-air ‘tree house’ style suites. Bright blue, orange and Eastern and Caribbean-inspired fabrics round out the refurbishment, rejuvenating the bedspreads and pillowcases, which coordinate beautifully with the new en-suite art and the unparalleled sea views. All materials were designed by Hulanicki exclusively for Bitter End and were inspired by the resort’s owners, the Hokin family.

Phase III Beachfront Villa Renovation – Air-Conditioning

36 of the 46 Beachfront Villas were completed this past Thanksgiving, and the remaining 10 Beachfront Villas are being renovated as we go to press (and ahead of schedule too!). They are slated to be available in early March. Those of you familiar with Villas 8 through 12 will recall that they have a back entrance. To expand the dressing room and vanity, and create room for additional sinks, stairs will be added to access the side doors on the decks, similar to the other 36 Beachfront Villas. In addition, these units will be air-conditioned.
