The marked trails give you choices ranging from a short nature stroll along Biras Creek and its bird sanctuary salt pond to an exhilarating climb through orchid-festooned woods with the reward of spectacular panoramic views from surrounding hillsides and peaks.
One spectacular view, at the end of "Guy’s Trail," over the top of Bitter End, offers a challenging hike that rewards with a view of North Sound, Saba Rock and the Clubhouse Beach.
The trail is a two mile tour that climbs the 455 foot hill behind Bitter End, traverses North to South, and then descends at The Pub, or continues to connect with trails to Deep Bay, Oil Nut Bay, Biras Creek, and on up the 630 foot Great Hill, where you can look back at Bitter End and North Sound. You can challenge yourself to run it in under 20 minutes or just take a long stroll in about an hour.
There are interesting flora found on Guy's Trail, including bromeliads, orchids and turk's cap cacti.
Or you can hike up the National Park trail to the summit of Gorda Peak, just a short trip from the resort.
Guided nature walks are given several times a week in the early morning as well as in the late afternoon.
