February's Service Stars
Vernal Walters Jr.- If there is a mechanic who always has a smile on his face it would be Vernal. Known as “JR,” he joined the Bitter End team last November and we are very proud to have such a skilled technician with us. JR is equipped with all the brilliant solutions to overcome any setbacks that may arise. His “Can Do” persona never ceases to amaze guests and colleagues alike.
Anthony Winston- Captain Anthony Winston, better known as Crispin, has been with Bitter End Yacht Club since 2006. Crispin possesses a great personality, ambition and takes great pride in his job. Always willing to work and to put out his best, Crispin weathers the seas both rough and smooth. His experience and performance go a long way with our company, and we are happy to have such an outstanding example of what Bitter End is about on our team.
Dexter Noel- Dexter has earned the distinctive reputation as the "go to" guy both on property and in the community. He started at the Bitter End in November of 1987 working alongside his father as a landscaper, here he gained the positive attributes that have propelled his career, from a landscaper, to a mechanic and presently one of the most reliable and knowledgeable appliance technicians. Dexter's positive attitude and reliability has earned him three employee of the month awards here at the Bitter End.
Fabia Welch- Fabia only joined us in November but was already known by the staff, as she was one of our recurrent guests who couldn’t resist the charms of Bitter End. Always rushing around, “the diva of Watersports” is never too busy to take work off your hands, even as she’s sailing with a pack of children on a Hobie, building sandcastles or running the Beach Olympics with 20+ Olympians. Popular among parents, staff and children; she takes great pride in her work. Always driven, bustling and obviously enjoying her role-she really makes the vacation for the kids!-and we are so pleased to have her on our team.
March's Service Stars
Vera Richards- Vera has had a very long history with the Bitter End Yacht Club; she started in Housekeeping and then moved on to the Quarterdeck. In her current department, Vera was hired as a dock attendant and after 10 years of hard work she moved up to 'Dock Master'. We are proud to have Vera on our team; she has a very unique personality that captivates guests and colleagues alike. The Quarterdeck Marina has an unsurpassed reputation for being immaculate and the friendliest in the BVI, and that is thanks to Vera, who makes sure her guests' do have a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.
Denis Noel- Denis ("Brooks") has dedicated most of his working life to landscaping and for over 24 years at the Bitter End; his style of landscaping stands out and is nothing short of been artistic. Brooks always exhibits a passion for every aspect of his landscaping work and the quality of his work is obvious on the hillsides at Bitter End. His hard work consistenly over the years has really earned him the position as a "Star among Services Stars."
Martin Bubb- Hailing from the Spice Isle of Grenada, Martin has been in charge of one of our most popular areas at Bitter End – The Pool - for over 22 years. Martin’s name is mentioned often and easily by our guests because of his superb customer service, his attention to detail, and the outstanding attentiveness and the care he takes with each guest. He is a huge asset to the Food and Beverage Department, and is well known for being the reason a lot of our guests return.
Carlos O’Niel- Carlos has been employed at the Bitter End Yacht Club for the past ten years. He started working as a 'gopher' (doing whatever needed to be done) and then focused on general construction worker and is a specialist painter. Carlos is one of the steadiest workers in the construction department; he is a very reliable worker and executes all of his delegated tasks with vigor and timeliness. He takes initiative, always finding something new to do when each task is finished. He is clearly an asset to the team.
