Their managers have summed up our super Stars:
Ms. Neisha Salina: During Neisha’s four years with the resort, she has blossomed into a star employee who has mastered many aspects of customer service, as evidenced by her many mentions in guest comment cards. She is dependable, flexible and guest oriented. Originally from Trinidad, Neisha first visited the Bitter End during her vacation on Virgin Gorda, fell in love and immediately applied for a position as a server. Neisha is a great service leader in the department, and is up for any challenge. She epitomizes Service Star in every aspect of the word.
Mr. Hakim Creque: A native of Virgin Gorda, Hakim has been with Bitter End as a seasonal employee for the past 10 years in various capacities, and joined the team full time in 2007. Although he works as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer, it is not uncommon to see Hakim assisting at the reception desk and in the dining room. Tenacious, loyal and dedicated with a quick wit that keeps everyone laughing, he does whatever it takes to put a smile on the guests’ faces. When asked why he decided to join the Bitter End Yacht Club team as a full time employee his simple response was, “Where else could I possibly see myself working? Great food, fantastic coworkers and truly affable guests!”
Mrs. Gem Bain: Dubbed our own “Betty Crocker,” Mrs. Bain has been a member of the Bitter End Culinary Team for 30 years. Mrs. Bain and her Pumpkin Soup, salads and chowders are as much a part of Bitter End Yacht Club as the Beachfront Villas. She is an example for all employees, her dedication to her duties is limitless, she pours her heart into each dish she makes, and when given the challenge to create a new dish she attacks it with vigor. Her contributions to the Bitter End Yacht Club's culinary team have been on the menu for 30 years: "Mrs. Bain's Pumpkin Soup" is served 6 days a week. On the one night each week her signature soup isn't available, at least one guest, and usually more, will comment on how much they miss it.
Mr. Elvis McKenzie: As one the hardest working employees at Bitter End, Elvis’ willingness and helpfulness is a great asset to the Food & Beverage Department. There is nothing too difficult for him to accomplish. In his position as steward, he forms the backbone of the department and performs his duties with humor, ease and an undeniable whimsy that managers, staff and guests have come to love. Hailing from the beautiful island of St. Vincent, Elvis now regards the BVI and Bitter End as his home and cannot imagine any other resort as having the “family” that he has come to know.
